What to Expect

At your first consultation we will discuss everything you envision for your wedding gown! Nothing is off-limits. The more honest you are with me at this first consultation the closer I am going to be able to get to your dream gown. I then take measurements (if applicable), pin your gown to your specifications, and take all kinds of notes. Your second fitting is to ensure that everything is fitting properly and to make any final tweaks necessary. Your third and final fitting is your pick up day! This is a fun appointment.

Make sure that you bring a friend or family member with you so I can teach them how to bustle your gown. It is also incredibly important that you bring your shoes to every single one of these appointments. If shoes are forgotten there will be an additional charge.

Time Line

For basic alterations we will book the first fitting 8 to 12 weeks prior to the wedding date. Alterations completed in less than a six week window will receive an additional rush fee added to the final invoice. Brides are encouraged to book ahead.

I will reach out to you about a month prior to your first fitting to schedule the appointment.

Fittings

Two fittings and a final pickup appointment are included in the price of alterations. Please be sure to bring the following to EVERY appointment:

  • Your Dress

  • Your Shoes

  • Foundational undergarments you plan on wearing

All three items - dress, shoes, and undergarments- must be the exact items you will be wearing on the wedding day. If you forget them or decide to change part way through the process, this will require additional fittings at an extra cost.

Additional fittings are à la carte.

Alterations Quote

At the initial fitting, an alterations quote is provided.  The final price may change as the work progresses because every dress is unique, and adjustments can uncover new complexities that weren’t initially apparent. Furthermore, the bride's preferences can evolve throughout the fitting process, leading to additional adjustments, refining the fit, and additional costs.

Pricing

Every wedding gown is unique, and pricing varies depending on the style, fabric, embellishments, and the number of fittings required. Below is a helpful range to guide your planning:

Standard Alterations — $400-$800

  • Taking in or letting out side seams

  • Hemming gowns with lower-to-medium volume skirts

  • Adding a bustle for your reception

  • Raising straps or adjusting shoulders

Advanced Alterations — $600-$1,200

For gowns that need more detailed shaping or adjustments, including:

  • Reshaping darts or side seams for a smoother silhouette

  • Hemming dresses with multiple layers or lace

  • Custom bust adjustments for ideal fit

  • Moves like changing necklines or bodice tweaks

Rush Alterations & Expedited Timelines

Bridal alterations are best completed over multiple fittings to ensure the highest level of precision and comfort. When timelines are shortened, expedited service may be available on a limited basis.

Rush alterations require:

  • Prioritized scheduling within an established fitting calendar

  • Focused turnaround to accommodate shorter timelines

  • Additional planning to maintain the same level of quality and attention to detail

For these reasons, rush services include an additional fee, which is discussed transparently during your fitting.

Payments

Payments must be made in CASH only. Two hundred ($200) is due at the first fitting as a deposit.  The remaining balance is due at the final fitting appointment.
